A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed into the jaw to act as a new tooth root, to hold a prosthetic tooth or bridge. There will be a healing process between the implant placement and the attachment of the permanent crown. Dental implants are outpatient, surgical procedures performed by our periodontist in our adult practice.

3. Implant placement: This is a surgical procedure where the titanium post is placed into the bone.
4. Healing and Osseointegration: Over the following months, the implant will fuse with the bone, a process known as osseointegration.
5. Placement of the Permanent Crown: Once the fusion is complete, a final impression is taken to fabricate a permanent crown.
